SYM (Save Your Money) is a savings challenge app built around the idea that saving is a daily habit, not a test of willpower. Here is what it does, what it does not do, and how it helps you put money aside consistently.
Savings challenges
Pick one of around twenty challenges, including the 52-Week, 100 Envelope, 1p and No-Spend challenges, or set your own target and date. SYM works out what each day needs, shows today's amount, and once you have put the money aside, one tap on the coin logs it. Every save leaves a mark, so a 180-day goal is 180 marks you can see filling up.
Several goals, one tap
You can run more than one goal at once, such as a house deposit, an emergency fund and a holiday. The big coin adds up everything due today, so one tap saves it all, and each goal also has its own coin if you only want to save towards one.
Streaks without the guilt
Each goal keeps its own streak. A streak only ends once a day is over without a save, so today never counts against you: an unsaved day shows as due until midnight. A missed day shows as a dashed ring, not a red cross, and you can catch it up whenever you are ready. It still counts towards your total.
What SYM does not do
SYM does not connect to your bank, hold your money or take payments. You put the money aside wherever you like, such as a savings account, a pot or a jar, and record it in the app. Your data stays on your phone by default and you can use SYM without an account; if you sign in, your goals sync to a new device.
What it costs
SYM is free to download. Picking a challenge, saving each day, streaks and badges all work without paying. There is an optional Pro subscription with extra automations and insights, with a free trial you can cancel at any time.
Why the approach works
Small, specific daily amounts are easier to act on than a vague plan to save more. Seeing progress build towards a named goal makes future money feel real, and a streak gives you a reason to keep going on the days you would rather not. Missed days are treated calmly, so one bad week does not undo months of saving.
